My role was to identify and analyze communities that would benefit from a private social media event space tailored for communication, event coordination, and privacy. Through strategic research and defined criteria, I honed in on key audience groups, ensuring our solution aligned with their unique needs and engagement patterns.

The Problem

To effectively identify and engage with key communities in the Chicago area, I created a strategic approach that combines research, networking, and direct outreach. Here's how I went about doing this.

Community Research & Data Gathering: Begin by analyzing demographic and cultural data to understand the various neighborhoods and social groups in Chicago. Utilize sources like city reports, census data, and local nonprofit directories to pinpoint active and engaged communities.

Social Media & Local Forums Exploration: Investigate platforms like Facebook Groups, Meetup, Reddit, and Nextdoor to discover local community discussions, events, and interest-based groups that align with our outreach goals.

Online Engagement & Outreach: Connect with key organizations, community leaders, and event organizers through email, LinkedIn, or in-person networking. Communicate with these communities to build relationships and introduce our private social media event space as a valuable tool for community coordination and communication.

The Research

The Results

Extensive Community Research: Identified and analyzed hundreds of existing communities in the Chicago area, including church groups, company interns, medical residency students, and residents in adult housing and apartment complexes.

Strategic Outreach & Networking: Researched key points of contact (POCs) within each community to establish meaningful connections, ensuring outreach efforts were tailored and effective.

Targeted Product Pitching: Developed personalized communication strategies to introduce our product, demonstrating its value in enhancing community engagement and privacy for events.
